Algebra is one of the most important subjects for middle and high school students because it serves as a foundation for all subsequent math topics. Mastering basic algebra concepts early on is essential for later success and especially important for doing well on the SAT and ACT math sections — algebra concepts make up almost 40% of these tests! However, algebraic concepts, especially the jump from numbers to letters in math, can be daunting to students who are learning them for the first time. We believe that any student can learn to thrive in algebra and conquer the subject matter with the right tools and study skills.
At Ivy League Tutoring, we are excited to give our pre-algebra, algebra one, and algebra two students the opportunity to work one-on-one with award-winning math tutors affiliated with Brown University. Our Ivy League educated math tutors are experts in their fields and passionate about teaching.
We emphasize the importance of understanding mathematical concepts beyond memorization and of learning through application. Our students learn graphical, numerical, and analytical methods for solving problems, which leads to a deeper understanding of the material. We also recognize the challenges of grasping new terminology and notation or interpreting functions and work closely with our students to ensure they build a strong foundation and confidence in mathematical methods. We encourage our students to become successful problem solvers by helping them develop strategies that work specifically for them.
To accommodate our students’ needs, we offer both in-person and online tutoring in algebra for students across the country.
By maintaining close communication with our students and parents, we are able to tailor our tutoring to perfectly fit the needs of each individual student. Here at Ivy League Tutoring, we are committed to helping our students reach their goals, and our tutors go above and beyond to ensure that our students are satisfied with our service. Just ask our students!
