Students register for the PSAT through their high schools. Your child’s college guidance counselor will tell you how and when to sign up for the PSAT generally by the fall of your child’s junior year.
The PSAT registration fee is $15 per student. Some schools may charge an additional administrative fee, and some schools cover all or part of the fee for their students. For details, ask to speak with your child’s college guidance counselor.
PSAT scores are available about two months after students take the test, in early to mid December. Teachers and guidance counselors distribute the paper score reports to students.
If students provided an email address when they took the test, the College Board will email you an access code to view your child’s online score report. Teachers and counselors can also give you the access code to view your child’s online score report if the student did not provide an email address on test day.
Colleges do not receive students’ PSAT scores, and they are not part of college admission decisions.
It’s the same test as the PSAT 10.
Thank you so much for being the best teacher I have ever had. You are a very nice person and taught me many things I had missed in previous years. Your giving me time to figure things out on my own gave me more confidence and made me believe in myself.
