Top 5 Resources for SAT Self-Study

Here are some top resources that students can use for SAT self-study. Even if you plan on taking a private SAT course to learn top strategies for each test section, the more self-study that you can complete before private tutoring begins, the better result you’ll see.

1) Best free online SAT prep: www.khanacademy.org

Log into your Khan Academy account, or create an account if you don’t already have one. Under courses in the top left-hand corner, select SAT Prep from the drop-down menu. Follow the steps to link your College Board account to your Kahn Academy account. Khan Academy will import your PSAT and SAT scores and bring back SAT videos and problem sets, based on the missed problems on your previous PSAT/SAT tests. If you complete all four SAT math problem sets for heart of algebra, advanced math, problem solving & data analysis, and additional topics, you can increase your math score by as much as 160 points.

2) Take free official SAT practice tests by the College Board, which are the gold standard for practice and much more accurate than tests found in popular test prep books. These are the same tests that are included in The Official SAT Study Guide.
